Geodezia Moscow FAG β49
1934, Zavod Geodezia, Moscow
Geodezia Moscow FAG β49 made in 1934 by Zavod Geodezia in Moscow, while the VOOMP Zavod Geodezia 3,5/50mm lens was made by VOOMP in Leningrad.
By mid 1934, it was estimated that the total production of the Geodezia Leica (Moscow) would reach 300 for that year and 1500 for 1935, but like the VOOMP Pioneer (Leningrad), the project was apparently stopped before more than a few hundred cameras were made in 1934.
The FAG represents not only an interesting and extremely rare camera, but also a milestone in the development of the Soviet Leica copies.
