GOI Teleobektiv 5,5/13,5cm M39
1935, “State Optical Institute” (GOI) Leningrad, USSR
GOI Leningrad Teleobektiv 5,5/13,5cm is one of the first Soviet telephoto lenses in Leica M39 mount, made as a prototype for the earliest black Fedka cameras.
An interesting feature of this special lens is the retrofocus design – quite unique for a Pre-WWII optical photo-lens construction - the lens keeps the same length when focused.
Judging by the serial number the lens was made about 1935 – it wasn't until 1938 when interchangeable lenses for FED cameras began to be mass-produced at other Soviet factories.
The lens is in very good condition, comes with an original GOI wooden box with matching serial number.
