Leica M3-P

2011

Leica M3-P Edition anniversary camera, 2011

A honorable special edition of the analogue M3-P commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Leica Shop in Vienna. The camera is a “new” M3 with exposure meter, in silver chrome finish with vulcanite cladding and top cover in the typical Leica M3 style. Furthermore, the top cover is engraved with the “Classic Leica Script” and the serial number of the camera. Yes! Give us the classic Leica typography! Each camera has a Special Edition number on the hot shoe.

The camera comes with the Leica Noctilux-M 1:0.95/50mm ASPH. lens no. 4120546 in silver anodized finish, which was only produced for a few special editions. This item is no.17 of 20 units only.

The Noctilux is based on the original Summarit 1:1,5/50 whose optical formula was designed by Horace William Lee for Taylor, Taylor & Hobson ("TTH") and later licensed, then sold the patent to Schneider, which in turn licensed it to Leica and even manufactured the actual lens on Leica's behalf.
