Summicron M 2/35mm black paint

1959, Leitz Canada

Leitz Summicron M Ć’2/35mm lens black paint, 1959

The 8-element 35mm Summicron f/2 lens was first introduced at Photokina in 1958. It was eminently suited to available light photography in both colour and monochrome. The 8-element 35mm Summicron was produced until 1969 and is still very popular due to its particular optical performance characteristics.

Therefore, today it is one of the classical Leica lenses in especially high demand not only among collectors, but also users. The lens here also is of the very rare first black-paint version with brass bayonet flange.
